Haunting the Ghosts

Everything moves forward. There's a lot of evidence to support that. Like, you wake up to yet another sun or you walk into your office and see familiar faces. It also means your memory works just fine. So there you go. Some would call it routine and some would call it moving forward. It is both. I think.

What's left behind should be left behind, meaning should be in the past. It cannot be unbroken or mended or repaired in any way. If it was broken. We should not relive the ghosts, because they are just that - ghosts. Their purpose is to remind us of the nonexistence of the past. Past exist in the memory. Ghosts just get in the way of moving forward. They are like the Sirens that bashed thousands of ships against the shores. Remember Odysseus.

The Sirens or ghosts inhabit the fantasy world of what might have been. That's their realm and that's where they take us and where they crush us. That’s entirely our fault. Some of us are so drawn to the possibility of nothing. The ghosts know where our weaknesses lie. In regret and what might have been.

So what was or what was not cannot be breathed back to life. Let the ghosts be what and where they are and move forward. Stop haunting the ghosts. The purpose of ghosts is to remind you that there’s nothing there and you should go on. To love means to move forward.
