Tito i ja (Tito and me), a famous Serbian movie, used a minor’s POV to criticize communism and Tito idolatry long before Taika Waititi’s Jo Jo Rabbit used the same trope, apparently as pseudo criticism that made fun of the Holocaust by trying to make Hitler kid-friendly. How morbid.
Yes I can hear murmur that it was not his intention. Regardless, Waititi made a confusing little script. What’s more confusing is a dangling question - can a non-Jew pull the same confused stunt?
